Prachinburi is located 134 kms to the east of Bangkok. It occupies an area of 11,957 square kilometres. Traces of the ancient town of the Dvaravati period has been found in the region. The forested area to the north of the town forms a part of Khao Yai National Park. Prachinburi is administratively divided into 7 districts: Muang PrachibBuri, Ban Sang, Kabin Buri, Na Di, Amphoe Prachantakham, Si Maha Phot, and Si Mahosot.
