Three day trip to Nakhon Pathom Province

My destination last weekend was to Nakhon Pathom which is about an hour and a half to the West of Bangkok. I have been there quite a few times on day trips, but I haven’t stayed in the city for a long time. Sometimes it is nice taking your time. The following photos were tweeted live during my trip. Thai Film Museum in Nakhon Pathom is open at the weekends & holidays. Five rounds per day: 10am, 11am, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm. Admission is free.

DAY TWO: Good morning from Nakhon Pathom. Top temperature today will be 37°C. My plan is to visit Sanam Chandra Palace and Phra Pathom Chedi.

If you are interested in Buddha images then you should visit Phra Pathom Chedi in Nakhon Pathom. They have them all with signs in English.

Phra Pathom Chedi in Nakhon Pathom costs 60B for foreigners & is free for Thais. Though I must admit I didn’t realize this until I came out.

Looks like the Aircraft Night Market in Nakhon Pathom has failed. Maybe because it smells like a pig farm. But it does have some interesting aircraft, boats and decommissioned army vehicles that you can inspect. Map: https://goo.gl/maps/wgncsuiiUdk

DAY THREE: Good morning from Nakhon Pathom. This is my third & last day in this province. Today I’ll be visiting a couple of floating markets.

Red Lotus Floating Market in Nakhon Pathom is open every day from 8:30am-6pm. But best to go in the cool of the day to see the lotuses.

You can rent a boat at Red Lotus Floating Market for 200B per person. I politely asked for Thai price of 100B & it was granted.

Lam Phaya Floating Market in Nakhon Pathom is only at the weekends. Come early as it gets really packed. But it is really worth it.
