Visiting Bang Kwang:  It is not always easy to visit the prison these days. So it would be good if you dress smartly and act as if you have done it all before! You need to first go opposite the main prison gates (1). Here there is a bilingual form to fill in. You will also need a photocopy of your passport. There is a rubber stamp on the table to use on the photocopy. Then go through the side gate (2) near the main gate. Go through the garden to the entrance (3). Here you will pass by the locker room where you will have to leave bags and any cash etc. Then they search you and you will go through a metal detector. Then you do a sharp turn to the left and walk down to the far end (4). On the right is for Thai prisoners and the left for foreigners.
